This is the big year where our lives changed quite a bit! We really lost complete track of dates, times and relativity so we focused on events:
Our Wedding: February, 25th, 2006
For more information, details & pictures - please see the specific blog entry titled: “Our Wedding: 2.06”
We planned and prepped and here it is – the big event! It was a whole weekend of fun.
- Thursday: preparing flowers, locations and more while caching up with everyone.
- Friday: Bonding thorough cigars, spas, rehearsals, and restaurant trials.
- Saturday: Getting ready, pictures, food, ceremony, reception and dancing!
- Sunday: Brunch, rest, talking and good-byes.
As soon as we made it back to Pullman, I left again for CA to attend a mind/body conference (to finish up my yoga alliance certification) with the girls from work. A week later, Jeremy joined me in San Diego for our honeymoon. What fun! We saw the city inside and out! We both love SD. As soon as we got back to Pullman, Jeremy was off to Coos Bay for family issues. A week later, we met up in Spokane again to assist Jason and Sara with their wedding invitation assembly. Wow – one week on, one week off, one on, one off. At this rate we will always be glad to see each other?
Sara and Jason’s Wedding: July 3, 2006
For more information, details & pictures - please see the specific blog entry titled: “Sara & Jason Wed: 7.06”
A year for weddings! This event is the second more import event to happen this year. Sara and Jason have been long time friends and we are so happy to be part of their event. We had a beautiful spring bridal shower for Sara in Spokane – full of happy memories, great food (and happy cake), meaningful gifts, memorable company, fun games and more!
Jeremy, on the other hand, had to out-do the “best bachelor party ever” that Jason threw for him in February. He managed by giving Jason just what he wanted the last weekend of June: all meat BBQ on Friday night, Bootcamp training Sat morning before 4 hours of paintball battles, go-cart racing, dinner at El Gauchos, ice cream at Cold Stone and home for poker games! The boys had such a great time, they are making the paintball weekend an annual event.
So mark your calendars for June 23, 2007 (and similar June weekends for years to come). Anyone and EVERYONE is invited but PLEASE LET US KNOW YOU ARE INTERESTED SO WE CAN RESERVE YOU A SPOT & GET YOU THE INFORMATION! The ladies are even welcome. For those not interested in Paintball fun, there will the spa choice too.
The week between the bachelor party and the wedding, we stayed around to visit family and help with last minute wedding preparations. Sara and I had a lot of fun putting together party favors, memory cards and display board, getting our dresses altered, and more!
Jason married the love of his life, Sara, at a beautiful outdoor wedding on the Washington Peninsula July 3rd. Gorgeous! We were in the bridal party – so we all looked pretty good! Sara was the most beautiful bride! The wedding planner was awesome and made it possible for us to mingle, dance and talk to folks we had not seen in a while.
Customer Service Please! IDEA in Las Vegas, July 2006
For more information, details & pictures - please see the specific blog entry titled: “Customer Service! 7.06”
Really – I am not going to put much here because there really is no way appreciate without the whole story. It is rather funny…beyond funny. All I can say is WOW, maybe my standards are too high. No – they aren’t. Please read the blog for Andrea, Mary Kate and my adventures in Las Vegas for the IDEA conferences.
Jeanna’s Birthday Surprise
In August, Andrea planned a surprise birthday party BBQ for Jeanna. It was a total success! We started the day off at the river; swimming, sunning, and snacking. After we got back in town, Jeremy went down to start the BBQ at Reany Park while the girls got changed. Jeanna had no idea that other people were going to be there. They walked down the hill in deep conversations and Jeanna was completely surprised when she walked into her own party area! What fun! We currently can not find the pictures – although we know they exist. SO we will post them when we find them! If anyone has some, please send them!
More Traveling
We did a bunch of traveling for Jeremy’s switch in Careers. He left Safeway and started JB Real Estate Solutions. He is now a professional Real Estate Investor. We went to training in September in Seattle, two in Oct (Phoenix and Dallas) and one in Detroit in Dec. Lots of info, lots of miles. We have decided to move to Detroit though! That is the best market and the coolest city! We will move in the spring of next year. Lots of changes!
Hunting
Jeremy did manage to find a little time for hunting in November – look what he got! The pictures say it all……. Yes Joanne – only two deer now in your backyard!
Thanksgiving
We went to Aunt Roses for Thanksgiving. Everyone was there! The twins were the hit though. Do check out the pictures – they are so cute! We enjoyed talking, eating, relaxing, shopping, watching Casino Royal (great movie!) and in general enjoying being around each other. I will miss this when we move.
Christmas
Andrea came over early in the month to help me sort through clothes and possessions in the effort of pairing down our stuff for the move. Yeah! Then she and Jacob returned on Christmas eve for dinner with the Linses. Yummy! Jeremy ate too much meat for his system and did not feel so good later. It is funny how lifestyle changes will affect you. Christmas morning we opened presents with Andrea and Jacob and had a good time hanging out. The cats were very happy to see her- they love her attention, pets, treats and TOYS! After Christmas dinner, we went and saw the new Rocky. The girls weren’t to sure but the guys liked it. Just something about Rocky you’ve got to love!
A New Year Begins
Mom Burgess finished out 2006 and helped us welcome in 2007 with a week long visit. Dad Burgess is still in the Middle East so she spent Christmas with Jessica (Jeremy’s sister) and then came out to see us for the new year. Yeah! Joanne’s was hoping with a fondu party. I am going to miss the UREC gang.
I think that is it! I will let you know when I update the pictures since they are not all here......
If I forgot something from this year – let me know and I will add it in…… the Christmas letter is not much help – we were too scattered to write date by date….we only hit the big things and it was still a novel! You can read it here. (link coming soon)
