Our Wedding: 2.06

OUR WEDDING: FEBRUARY 25, 2006
This most certainly the event of the year! We planned for two years, prepped hard for 6 months, gathered for 5 days and finished in 4 hours. Wow! You will have to read the reflection letter of 2006 for more details, I did not want to repeat everything said there……I do want to thank everyone that assisted us with the process because I am still thinking of it all; the beautiful flowers and centerpieces by Mom Kiehle and Andrea, the wonderful party favors and memories made by Cheryl, Chris, Mom, Andrea, Dad, Jeremy and Aunt Toni (who also provided all the supplies and knowledge!), dress shopping in several parts with Sara, Mary Kate, Andrea, and Mom, tux shopping with Ben and Jeremy (several trips!), cake shopping, picture arrangements, food tasting, location approving, meetings with the pastor all with Jeremy, invitations making with Sara and Andrea, and more!

In addition to the bridal shower Mom Kiehle and Andrea put on last summer, Jason put on a killer weekend long bachelor party for Jeremy with activities including: Go Cart Racing, Great food (lots of it!), shooting at the gun range, cigar lounges (with smoking cigars) and poker games! The UREC ladies put on a fabulous bridal shower and more for Jeanna. Sara and Andrea were able to make it over for the festivities! We started at Tena’s house with formal, girly sweets & salties to eat and gifts. Then it was off to Spokane for shopping and dancing!

Then the big weekend arrived! We went up to Spokane to check into the Davenport and do last minute arrangements on Thuraday. The parents also arrived and the Kiehles started on flowers while the Burgesses caught up in events.

Friday was designed to be a fun bonding day. The ladies (Mom Kiehle, Mom Burgess, Andrea, Sara and Jeanna) started early & headed to the Coeur d’Alene Resort Spa for a half day of pampering: manicures, pedicures, massages, wet spa, food and treats! Meanwhile, the guys (Dad Burgess, Jason, Steve, and me) were de-stressing with cigars and conversation. The girls finished with the afternoon with dress pick up, cake pick up, and last minute arrangements for the rehearsal dinner. That evening, the rehearsal went off great but the dinner after was a little bumpy….just a prelude to the “customer service please” that Jeanna and Andrea would experience in July. The restaurant, The Steam Plant Grill, just did NOT have it together. Too bad, the food is usually really good. Dad Burgess saved the evening with his fantastic speech and we vowed never to go to Steam Plant again (especially after they had the audacity to say we lied about our evening experience and that from their point of view everything went beautifully).

Saturday morning came and the ladies were busy again getting all dolled up with make up and hair. Then pictures. Then a food spread put on by Mom Kiehle and Aunt Rose. Then it was time. The music started (Aunt Janet on the hammer dulcimer and Family friend Bob on the piano). Down the isle I went with Dad Kiehle. The ceremony was short and meaningful, Cousin Rachel sang beautifully and then we were signing our certificates. Yeah! Next was the reception. Another salty and sweet occasion – the hits: the punch, the chocolate fountain and fresh fruit/cheese plates. I did not have hardly any food – I was too busy talking to everyone! We closed down the joint dancing but that was still not enough for a wiggler like me! Overall – a very successful evening – I just wish we had more time! Thank you everyone that helped to make this happen – we could not have done it without you!

The next morning, we finished up with the huge buffet brunch at the Davenport. Wow – a bit pricey but so worth every penny! I have never seen so many things so well prepared. Huge seafood assortment, large meat and savories, specially prepared omelets, crepes and waffles, beverages galore, and a sweets table to die for! Yeah!

TRAVELING SO MUCH SO SOON!
We no sooner got back to Pullman and I was off again – this time with the girls from work to CA for a mind/body conference. (Final steps to complete my Yoga Alliance Certification). A week later, I went down to San Diego via greyhound (not the experience I was thinking since I had only ridden greyhound type busses in Brazil – there are NO marble bus stops in LA) to meet up with Jeremy for our honeymoon. We had a fantastic time looking at museums (yes-all of them in Balboa Park in 2 days), the zoo, the waterfront, the island, and more. We met a lot of really nice people and even found a new favorite cigar/wine/coffee shop. At the end of the week, off to home we went and then Jeremy left me for a week to go to Coos Bay for family reasons. My goodness – The first month married and we spent like 14 days together. We did meet up again though – in SPOKANE. Yes – we were on the move again. This time- meeting to help Sara and Jason make their wedding invitations. We went to Sara’s aunt’s house and just had a great party of a time with glue, ribbon, food, drink, paper and more! What fun!
